Feels strange that I haven't posted for nearly a month. This is definitely a gap I'll be ignoring in the 365 day scheme. We have moved house so we're now over in Countesthorpe , visitors are welcome as usual. We don't have tonnes of DIY on the list but enough to keep me occupied for the moment. I spent some time preparing the garage, I've laid a wooden floor over some insulation, painted the walls and rewired the electrics. The laser is back up and running again and I've caught up on my orders so I'll be picking up on the blog again soon. Photos of the new workshop soon.

Bit of a long shot. I have an idea that I think would run well as a kickstarter project but unfortunately kickstarter is only open to US residents (but they're happy to take money globally). The non US equivalents exist but are mostly unheard of.  I have the design largely complete and proven with working models, I have the laser to make and ship the items. I'd quite like someone who was good with the marketing to give me a hand. If anyone out there in internet land meets the requirement of being a US resident and would be interested in becoming a partner on my project then drop me a line and we'll discuss it. msraynsford@gmail.com

The house move is finally upon us, we're due to move on the 12th of April and going to be spending 5 days in a field between now and then. So what with packing, Kim's week of nights and camping there really isn't a lot of time to get everything done so I will be putting this blog on Hiatus until I'm set up again in the new house. Obviously this will be as soon as possible, and I haven't decided yet if I can double time to make up for gap or if I'll extend the timescale appropriately (depends if I find a good streak of items to make). So thank you for sticking with me and stay tuned, I will still be posting a few things that I'm making (just not laser cut)

Last night while at Nottingham Hackspace I helped Dominic create a stamp for Bristol Hackspace . After the initial test I did some useful things making the text larger (outset) and creating the handle to mount the stamp on which I think is enough to post it up on here.

I bought some copper coloured metalgraph plastic from TRoteclaser , they were quick to deliver and very helpful for a hobbyist such as myself. The plastic is mostly to be used with my Arc reactors but I also figured they would make a nice name plaque at the same time, so I made this up for my friend Vikki (obviously).  At the same time I also managed to turn out 5 arcs at new record speed for me. Half a dozen happy customers coming up :)

A few things came together at the right time for this one. Dominic was talking about letting the public go round various tables at the Derby Maker Faire  and actually use some of the tools and equipment to make things (yes maybe even a laser cutter). A 3D printable merit badge on thingiverse, which led me to notice Adafruits merit badges  which are a nice idea but I think an armful of things like this would be cooler. I liked the sprues from yesterday so thought I should do something else with them.
